WALTHAM FOREST: Parking officers will not be striking over Christmas WALTHAM FOREST: Parking officers will not be striking over Christmas

The prospect of a festive parking free-for-all has been averted after a union confirmed Waltham Forest's parking enforcement officers have accepted a new pay rise.

The Unite union say that the borough's enforcement officers will get an increase of 4.5 per cent which means they now get on average £9.60 per hour, 30p more than before.

The union was planning a Christmas walk out which it claims would have seen the council's parking enforcement policy "completely undermined."
