Comedy legend Frank Carson has joked about the curse of a Chislehurst comedy club after both Bernard Manning and Mike Reid played their last gigs there.

The Lounge, in White Horse Hill, Chislehurst, is the last venue both comics played before their deaths, and Mr Carson says he is worried as he performed there last month.

Mr Manning, 76, appeared at the club in May, around two weeks before he died, and Mr Reid, 67, held a charity gig on July 8, ahead of his death on Sunday.

Mr Carson, who is 80, told The Sun today: "I played there in June but won't be there next June, knowing my luck."

A third comic, Keith O'Keefe, also performed at the club in April, but collapsed half-way through his set, after suffering a heart attack.

He is now recovering at home.
