A TEENAGER says he is still too scared to be left alone four months after he was attacked in his own bedroom.

David Alexander, 18, had just got back from football practice at 11pm last October when he heard a knock at the door of his home in Morello Close, Swanley.

He says he looked through the window pane and recognised the man as his former girlfriend's brother, Joseph Boxall.

The 19-year-old of Almond Drive, Swanley, was standing at the door with his friend Glen Coombes.

Mr Alexander, a student at Swanley Technology College, said: "I went upstairs to get away from them because I was scared they were going to start trouble."

He then heard the door being kicked in and the duo making their way up the stairs into his bedroom.

Mr Alexander added: "Joseph and I made eye contact and all I can remember is him laying into me and punching and hitting me.

"I tried to cover my face but it was streaming with blood and he kept hitting me."

Mr Alexander was left with a broken nose and bruising to his face and head.

Mr Alexander said: "It has been a few months since it happened but I can't stay in the house alone.

"I broke down and cried the last time I tried to. It has ruined my life."

His father Allan, 54, said: "I am so angry at what he has done to my son.

"He used to be what you would call the joker of the pack, but now he is too scared to stay in the house alone or even walk down the street."

Glen Coombes has been given a caution by police.

Boxall pleaded guilty to inflicting actual bodily harm at Dartford Magistrates' Court on February 12.

He also pleaded guilty to using violence to secure entrance to a premises.

Boxall was given 200 hours' community service and ordered to pay £400 to David Alexander for the injuries he suffered.

He will also have to pay £150 to Allan Alexander for the damage to the door.
