A DOUBLE decker bus carrying dozens of pupils home from school collided with parked cars in Beaconsfield tonight - after the driver collapsed at the wheel.

The bus had just picked up pupils from Beaconsfield High School and The Beaconsfield School and was heading for High Wycombe, when it smashed into the cars outside the Pizza Express restaurant in London Road, Beaconsfield Old Town at 3.50pm.

No-one was injured in the accident but the driver received medical attention from paramedics at the road side.

Police have warned of minor delays along the Beaconsfield stretch of London Road while emergency services make the scene safe.

Parent John Turnock said some of the school children were “shaken” by the incident after he was called by his 13-year-old son Sam.

He said: “My son was on the bus and he called me to ask if I could pick him up – he was fine.

“One of the girls were a little upset and shaken by the accident but all the school children looked fine.”

Very lucky it wasn't on the way down White Hill or this could have been a LOT worse. Feel sorry for the driver though, hope it's nothing serious as chances of keeping his job aren't great.

my daughter was one of the pupils on the coach, and they were all pretty shaken up - apparently the bus driver was a little disoriented when they got on the coach because they had to wake him up to let them on - hope the driver is ok and makes a full recovery!

Glad to hear that all the school children where ok.
"BUT"
If the driver felt ill in anyway or very tired he should have not put the children at risk buy trying to drive. His first thought should have been for the safety of his passengers.
That is the rule of all people who hold a " PSV " licence.
NO EXCUSE ! SORRY.

I was one of the pupils on the bus and for that one small second after we had realised the bus had crashed, we all panicked! The sixth-formers had it all under control and no one got hurt. We all walked back to the school and awaited our parents arrival at school, so that we could go home. It's not an ordeal you can forget easily!

Main reason for crashes is people cant drive.I think there should be special lanes for buses, people that cant drive, women, slow vehicles, tractors,le
arner drivers etc and leave the main high way to those that know how to use it

Those BHS buses and the companies that run them are well dodgy. My daughter used to get the bus - a rust-bucket with seat belts that didn't work and usually drivers who weren't sure where they were going. What the hell was the driver doing having a sleep at 4pm anyway? Sounds like he is incompetent and not fit to drive

I guess your a man , Women are better drivers than men anyday L drivers are getting better training and tractors have speed limits on they tractors the bus driver may have had a underlying health issue thankfully no one was hurt .

I was on the bus aswell and i think that the driver should have said if he felt ill we all would have understood but what he did was stupid he was putting the lives of not only us but of the public who where around at the time in serious danger its not fair to rest all this on the shoulders of the sixth formers who kindly took over and helped us return back to school.

What you mean very silly men who think their cars are extensions of their genitals and mostly drive as if they were said genitals?
Oh yes good one - err just run it past me again... I was busy laughing last time.

It's not a laughing matter at all! I mean somebody could have been seriously hurt, we were just lucky that they weren't!
