Bus crashes above railway line

THIS was the scene in St Albans this afternoon after a bus crashed through a fence and was left stuck above St Albans railway line.

The bus hit the fence lining Sandridge Road, next to the King William Pub, at around 1.15pm.

The road was quickly closed while the unhurt driver of the empty bus was taken to safety and the bus removed.

British Transport Police also stopped journeys to clear the track after a train hit an object.

Centrebus said they will be undertaking a full investigation.
