A woman who stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from her employer’s home received an eight week suspended sentence.

Kristina Titova, 29, stole jewellery worth £8,250 from former English National Opera chief executive Loretta Tomasi's home in The Terrace, Barnes, on January 23.

She appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Wednesday, March 19, after previously indicating a guilty plea on March 10.

Titova was handed an eight week imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, as well as being ordered to complete 180 hours’ unpaid work.

She must also pay compensation of £8,250 and an £80 victim surcharge.

Mrs Tomasi, her employer, was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) as part of the Queen’s new year’s honours list.
