When visiting the beautiful island of Malta over my Easter break I found myself blown away by the natural beauty and wonders of the capital city Valletta. Here is my experience of Valletta and some reasons why you should definitely visit if you have the chance.

The food

From the short amount of time I got to spend in Valletta, I experienced two wonderful meals and I’m sure that there are so many more amazing places I could have visited. I was surrounded by so many amazing looking, colourful bars and cafes, which came alive in the evening time with spectacular smells.

The atmosphere

One of the most memorable parts of my trip was stumbling across a bar in the evening where there was a man covering classic songs like “Pretty Woman” and “Don’t Stop Me Now” and the atmosphere of everything was so overwhelmingly magical. Everybody was so happy and the music was some of the best I’ve ever heard. Genuinely.

The atmosphere in the daytime was also amazing. The streets were busy and bustling yet still felt peaceful. It made me feel entirely like I was on holiday and had escaped from normal life.

Tourist attractions

Valletta was packed with new and exciting touristy stalls selling anything from jewellery to interesting new foods to try. There was also no shortage of traditional touristy shops selling typical holiday destination things like tote bags and key chains.

There are many more amazing tourist attractions to visit in Valletta like St. John’s Co-Cathedral. However considering the amount of time we had, we were extremely happy to just take in the atmosphere and environment while walking around Valletta and exploring ourselves

Overall, Valletta is an amazing city that I highly recommend you visit if you get the chance.
