The process of becoming a prefect was tedious yet rewarding. I was motivated to become a prefect stemmed from my desire to gain practical experience of how the outside world functions, while also fulfilling my passion for helping others and organising school events. However, securing this position was a challenge as there were four other candidates competing for the same position. We had to make a presentation in front of three headteachers in which we had to suggest ways to improve the school and outline the events we could organise every half term.  I suggested holding a culture week, where students could immerse themselves in different cultures and learn to appreciate the diversity in our school. During the interview, I was quite anxious as it was my first time being interviewed for such a challenging role. However, I was able to compose myself and made the best of the opportunity. When I found out that I was selected to be a prefect, it felt like all my hard work had paid off and I was ready to take on the responsibilities of this new role with pride.
